Base board
Base board
Does the baseboard need to be caulked in the bath area and utility to stop moisture from getting under the lino. The lino. is not glued down. And is not all one peice they put metal strips in the door ways also does it need to be sealed around the top of the shower? Also they left nails sticking up under the lino . Thanks for your time and help Randy
Re: Base board
Im not sure that will help much, the water will just move to an area to either side that isnt caulked. A rug will take care of most small spills. Not sure what you mean about nails, If you can feel the heads just pound them down. Tom
Re: Base board
You wouldn't hurt anything by caulking along the baseboard. Keep in mind that in time, caulk tends to become dirty and yucky so the less caulk you have the better. When I install bathtub/shower combos -- I look for the type that require the least amount of caulk (preferably none) because I hate going back a few years later and trying to tear out old caulk and doing it again.
Pound the nails down with care so you don't puncture a hole through the lino.
Is the lino attached with staples or something at the edges? If its not attached or glued, in time it will shrink and create gaps along the edges.

You gotta see my repair manual!

Re: Base board
I was thought I might mess the Lino up with a hammer . The Lino is not stapled down or glued . Some places along the edge you can see places that water can get under it . Some places the floor is wavey . In one room the floor drops like 3/4 of an inch . Thanks Randy
