I just purchased a double wide on a perm. foundation. the surface drainage around it was not correct so moisture was a problem in the crawl space. It has made the floors like a roler coaster. all the walls and cabinets are built on top of floor. Is it possible and effective to secure 5/8" plywood over exsiting floor before i install the laminate flooring. if not what could be done????

Sounds like you should be visiting the bookstore here...The host of this board has a great book on repairs..and it sounds like you are going to need it..You are likely to find other problems that the book will be helpful for..and floor repair is covered..

This is a much bigger job than just overlaying the floor...you will need to cut out the existing floor and replace it...

Sounds like you have bought a big job...have fun..

Not a good idea. A rotten particle board floor will continue to deteriorate. To fix this permanently, the old floor should be removed. Tom
