could someone give me advise. I am thinking about putting sheetrock mud on my
paneled walls. their is no paper on these walls just paneling. i would like to take sheet rock mud and skip-trowl it onto the walls to create a kind of mexican style stucco look. My question is, will it stay on there without any extra preperation. ?
I have seen this done in houses where it is both blown on and done by hand. I would like to try it my hand? anybody know if it would just fall off?

thanks for any help..........suzy

You could do it, I would spritz the wall area you are working on with water first, paneling will absorb a lot of water from the mud and may cause it to dry too quickly and not adhere as well.

Clean the walls squeeky clean, prime with Kilz or Zinnser primer. Now, I am not familiar with this technique, but you have to be careful about putting on mud too thick on a mobile home, particularly if your in a cold climate area and are suspeptable to frost heave. The shifting of the home may cause a thick coating to crack. So if this goes on fairly thin, you should be okay. Tom
