Can I paint the walls in a manufactured home?

Just trying to change some things in my dad's double-wide. He would like to make it more masculine(there are flowers on some of the walls). I am wanting to know whether I can either paint, or even wallpaper over the existing flowers? Don't want to try it until I know for sure it will work. If it can be done, what type of paint should I use? I'm not certain what the walls are actually made of. Please advise! Thanks!

You probably have the thin wallboard that is standard in most MH's. You can paint, but good prep work is essential. The walls must be squeeky clean and degreased. Then primed with a product like Kilz or Zinsser, then you can paint using whatever product you want.
You can also put a pattern on the walls by using joint compound. If you go to this site,
www.mobilehomerepair.com and look in the books and parts link, there is a video available for purchase on how to do this. Not sure if its available by clicking on the Book or Parts Store link here on this site also.
