bathroom fixture

Post by Deb Wimpfheimer » Sun May 02, 2004 8:43 pm

We think there is a leak inside the tub/shower wall. There is a very slow, minimal drip under the house. It appears to come from that area. Problem: we can't figure out how to look at the pipes. Our other bathroom has an entry area for the tub in the adjacent room. This bathroom is next to the back entry way - no apparent access? Any ideas?

Deb,

I have found on occasion that the shower head itself comes loose or the teflon tape needs redone. If you have a tub-shower then start with running just the tub itself and see if you have any water in the belly. This tells you that the faucet might be bad. Also, look to see if the water may be running down the surround in the corners or over the edge of the tub. Rule out the simple items first. You may have to cut a access panel behind the shower head or faucet and add something decorative or a corner hutch to hide the problem of a hole for simplicity.
