Comodore Roof Trusses

I recently purchased a 1998 Comodore 56' x 14' home with a peak roof system ( cathedral ceilings throughout). I was told by Comodore's Mr. Dan Stace that this Comodore home uses "S" type roof trusses and that the space between the drywall ceiling and the roof sheeting is approx. 3 " ( I'm trying to figure out how to install ceilng fans in some of the rooms and have learned that the plastic electrical boxs that hold the ceiling light fixture will not provide adequate support for a fan system).
I purchased a fan brace form Home Depot that has 2 1/2 inch high leveling "feet" on the expandable brace. So, there's sufficient space between the drywall and roof sheeting for the leveling "feet" part of the brace but I'm not sure how the sharp points on each end of the feet will interface with these "S" type trusses. I thought Mr. Stace mentioned that 2x3's were used in the roof instead of 2x4's.
Does anyone know what the "S" type truss means and if I the fan brace I purchased can be installed with this type of construction. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Tim
