HOME SETTLING

Post by Cynthia » Wed Dec 24, 2003 10:13 am

I brought my new Commadore Modular Home last year... (brand new). I've just noticed that my roof (where the marriage wall was) is starting to split as well as some of the wall boards. I'm assuming that it's because of settling. What's the best way to repair this? (I tried to get the folks that sold me the house to come and do it but they told me that it's something I needed to do or claim on my insurance). Thank you

Tom

The dealer should be responsible for fixing this if they hired the set up company. If you did its yours of course. This home needs to be checked for relevel as soon as possible. Getting the dealer off the pot to fix this may take some yelling and screaming and threats on your part if they wont assist you. Thats assuming its still under warranty that is. Tom

if this is a true modular , sounds as it this section may not have been lagged together properly, check to see if there is a support under home in this area. first of all call commodore , request a blocking and foundation diagram for this model and let them know your problem also have buiding inspector from county look at it. if not properly set pin them to wall also danny, i seem to agrre with you on many of your posts , perhaps you to are tired of incompetent guys you have to compete against ?/
