We have a 1988 single wide and have had huge plumbing problems. Has anybody else experienced these kind of problems? Does any body have suggestions? When we make the repairs, what supplies do we use, because they keep blowing out!!!! My other question is......are there any recalls on this plumbing stuff, the pipes and fittings and so on. This is really getting expensive because now we are having to replace bathroom floor, tile, tub, tub surround, wall plus the plumbing and we are not sure what the master bedroom floor looks like underneath it is only squeaking.
This has also happened in the kitchen and under the new hot water heater.

Re: plumbing leaks=bad floors
Yes, there is a lawsuit in place for the plumbing. I dont have the link saved but if you do a search at Google for Mobile Home plumbing lawsuit or something to that effect, should get to to a page to file.
I dont know how your repairing these leaks, but I prefer switching over to Pex and use crimped fittings. In my opinion compression fittings should not be used in places where you can't easily get to them, Ie, in the belly.
If you go over to http://www.mobilehomerepair.com and click on the articles link on the top toolbar, you will see an article on pex and crimped fittings. Crimping is more expensive initially, due to the fact you have to purchase the crimper. Tom

Re: plumbing leaks=bad floors
Thanks
I will try to find the lawsuit.
Where can we find the find the Pex, Home Depot, Lowes? Never heard of it. This has been a real problem.
Is there a particular plywood we need to use to fix the floor, so it will be stronger, especially under the tub because the tub is shot too and it is going to have to be replaced too because everything is so bad.
Am I getting too technical?
Thanks again!

No those are great questions actually. Ordinary plywood is all you need. Check your current floor thickness by lifting up a floor register and measuring. If this is your first time at MH floor repair. The site that I mentioned above has an excellent book available that covers it all, lots more than just floor repair. I highly recommend it. Tom
