Hi,
I had my closing, and I am an official home owner now !!! Unfortunately, I have my first official question since the purchase...I did a load of laundry, and the kitchen sink made an awful sound while the washer drained, water spewed up from the kitchen drain (some), and suds from the washer came into the kitchen sink. The landowner is responsible for the septic system, does this sound like the septic is full and may need to be emptied, or do I have bigger problems within the home ??? Any idea ??

lois, is this a brand new home or one previously lived in{go that from a used car man lol} ? that will help, also does all the sewr connections hook up underneath the home or does it have just large 3" connections. this probably just a vent problem nothing major , my home does the thing, horton the kitchen sink and the washer are close together. let me know can you fix that is simple

It could be a few things. This is a symptom of either a plugged or restricted vent and or a plugged or restricted drain line. Tom

i meant to say i can give yoiu a fix that is simple, sometimes when a washer line drains past the sink drain the volume of water and rate is greater than the vent can handle. a simple fix is to make sure the washer line is on other side of sink drain or add a vent to washer line. sometimes having a washer line come in behind a toilet drain will make a toilet bubble. these vent can be purchased at lowes or home depot

Thank you for your suggestions. The washer is close to the kitchen sink area. I will find out more about the vent, hopefully it will be an easy fix. I am not a plumber, so I will hope to ask the local Home Depot salesmen about this "vent" solution. Thank you again.
