Air Conditioners in a mobile home
Re: Air Conditioners in a mobile home
I will never understand where all the "old tales" come from in this industry,,,
Of course you can put window a/c s in your home..The only caution is to be sure they are installed properly..with the proper angle slightly down outside the home..and condensation tube is always clear....this is the same caution you should pay attention to if your window airs are in stick built homes too...

Re: Air Conditioners in a mobile home
Alot of the wives tales came from the fact that many times you could not fit a window AC in older homes. The window openings were too small. Most just went thru a wall or put in a window with a larger opening. Tom
Re: Air Conditioners in a mobile home
We have a 2000 Palm Harbor with a AC/Heating unit that sounds like we literally have an indoor airfield with F-16's just sitting warming up their engines!!
After many repairs to both the condenser, replacing the entire underbelly duct work, and countless repairmen working on the inside unit the noise level remains at the F-16 level!!
Any idea why!?!? Thanks.....

Re: Air Conditioners in a mobile home
Most mobile home air handlers are pretty loud due to them being designed for high pressure ductwork and also because the usually have a central return on the blower door that has louvers. The blowers run at max high speed because they have too. Not much you can really due. Is yours a miller or coleman unit?
