How difficult would it be to replace the "woodwork" (I use the term loosely since it is pressed paper product) in my MH? I would like to put real wood around the windows and doorways. Any tips on how to would be appreciated. Thanks

If you have a little carpentry skill this is not too big of a deal. You can buy the trim at Home depot or Lowes in 10 to 12 foot sections. Then all you need is a miter saw and tape measure.A finish nailer makes things easier.
Remove the old stuff, measure and cut the new trim and use finish nails to attach. Caulk, sand and paint and you're done.

Deb,

I had a friend that recently removed and replaced the trim t/o the home and I thought it was a great idea that he used ceramic tile in the window ledges. No problems with the sun bleaching, or the rain damaging trim if the window accidently was left open.

You also need to be aware that your door jambs are probably paper wrapped as well and normally on 3/8" to 1/2" thick. They can be painted if all your wanting to do is to replace interior trim.

Good Luck

Just curious - do they use pressed paper throughout the entire mobile home - i.e. the walls and window sills. Asking because in our new mobile home - a Patriot -
the walls, window sills, and the bottom part of the kitchen cabinet consists of press paper or so it seems. Thanks.
