DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET PLANS FOR PUTTING TWO SINGLE WIDE HOMES TO GETHER TO MAKE A DOUBLE. THEN REFURBISH TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A SITE BUILT HOME. PLEASE E-MAIL ME AT [email protected] IF YOU KNOW HOW I CAN DO THIS.

THANKS

With good quality new double sections available for $40K and good used homes available from $20K...There is not much economic sense in trying this type of project..

Actually the first place to start would be with your local building department...Almost all building and zoning laws would not allow this type of construction..

If you try the project...good luck

This doesn't really relate to the original question, however, we have recently completed joining 2 double wides and completely remodeling both. I tend to agree about it not making real good economic sense and our local building department about had a fit, but once they saw the plans they signed onto the project. Not really recommended for the faint of heart :)

I have some pictures of the project on our family web site, curious about what you think...

Well interesting......A least you bought a really good home...Horton..

My observations....Looks like a very professional job...Finished home looks good...

Most counties in GA would not allow this to happen in todays zoning laws...

Overall cost must have been awful high...From the looks of your location I would guess you are in SW GA somewhere...near the FL line...Seems it would have been a lot less expensive to sell the original home and land..buy a new piece down the street and buy a quad wide Home of Merit, Adrian or Mascot...Custom built to your specs...A home this size would have cost about $105,000...plus or minus a little..but to each his own..

Only 2 questions...Is the first home a Horton?...and why not the same color on both?..

The first pictures show the 2 colors...however on "remodeling 2" shows the finished product...all the same color...

The first home was not a Horton
