Roofing Design

We have put together two old Mobile homes and attached them side by side. Bolted with 10x2's header broads down the center where they are attached, at the top and under home. Now we are ready to put on a roof. My question is, Can we put on a reg. roof or do we have to use metal roof? We would like to have a 3 part roof. One that covers the double wide and roofs that covers the decks that are in front and back of home covering the full lenght of the home. Then after the roof we are planning to put wood sliding and new windows, So my concerned is, having a end result that flows naturally. One problem I see right away is the lack of space above the doors, then there is the weight problem. Any ideas? Thank you
