Hi!
I have a mobile home in Maryland, this year I've made the decision to rehab it. I need new windows and also like to change the siding.
As far as the interior I like to have the subfloor changed due to rot. How much should I budget? Any recommendations for contractors in the Maryland area? Thanks in advance.

I'd like to know the answer to that as well; I'm on the market for a second hand mobile home, so I'd like to know how much repairs would cost if I were to settle for something that needs some work.

Hi,
I am a contractor, you want to renovate your mobile home, it will cost you round off $3500 if your mobile home is 50*35 feet square. In this budget, your kitchen, bathroom, and floor will be
renovated. Your windows will be changed. If you want to work on more things then the budget will be increased.

Hi Benny,
It's great to hear that you're planning to rehab your mobile home! Here's a general breakdown of what you might expect in terms of budgeting:
Windows
Cost: Replacing windows in a mobile home can vary depending on the type and size. Typically, you might budget around $200-$600 per window, including installation.
Recommendation: Consider energy-efficient windows, which might be slightly more expensive upfront but can save you on heating and cooling costs over time.
Siding
Cost: The cost for siding can vary significantly based on the material. Vinyl siding might range from $3-$7 per square foot installed, while more premium options like fiber cement can go up to $10 or more per square foot.
Recommendation: Vinyl is a popular choice for mobile homes due to its durability and lower cost, but if you're looking for a long-term investment, fiber cement or insulated siding might be worth considering.
Subflooring
Cost: Subfloor replacement generally costs between $2-$4 per square foot, depending on the material you choose and the extent of the damage.
Recommendation: Ensure the contractor addresses any underlying issues that caused the rot (e.g., leaks or poor ventilation) to prevent future problems.

The cost of replacing siding on a mobile home can vary depending on the material you choose. For example, vinyl siding is often more affordable than wood or fiber cement siding.

Replacing windows in a mobile home typically costs between $300 and $800 per window, depending on the size, style, and material (vinyl, wood, or aluminum). For a mobile home, you might need around 10–12 windows on average, so expect a total cost anywhere from $3,000 to $9,600.

Hi Benny,
Sounds like a solid plan — rehabbing a mobile home can really improve both comfort and value. For budgeting, here's a rough idea based on typical costs:
Windows: Depending on size and type, expect around $300–$700 per window installed.
Siding: Vinyl siding usually runs $4–$8 per square foot, including labor. Higher-end materials like fiber cement can cost more.
Subfloor replacement: If there's rot, you're looking at $3–$7 per square foot, but that could increase if joists are damaged.
As for contractors in Maryland, I’d recommend checking with local Facebook groups for mobile homeowners, reading reviews on Angi or HomeAdvisor, and always getting multiple quotes. Also, ask contractors specifically if they have experience with mobile/manufactured homes, as there are some unique construction elements.
Good luck with the rehab — it sounds like it’ll be a great transformation!
