Roof Edge Leaks - Can Wasps be Causing This?

About 10 years ago I began developing leaks along the roof edge of my 1978 mobile home. Looking back, I realize that this has coincided with a great increase in our Yellowjacket Wasp population and especially since these nasty critters were making nests under the flashing that covers the apparent source of my leaks. Could these two issues be connected? Methinks they are,
