Roof Edge Leaking, But Not the Roof - Could be Wasps?

Post by Governor78 » Wed May 15, 2019 1:56 pm

I have an older (1978) Governor Mobile Home and about 10 years ago I started getting what I thought was a roof leak, except when I tore into the ceiling to trace the source of the leak, I was surprised to discover it was coming from the edge of roof, where it meats the outside wall. Since that time I have experienced more of these leaks - driving me bonkers at the same time! Through my personal observations I noticed an influx of yellow jacket wasps (warming climate?) and they were making nests inside the flashing that cover these jointed areas. It is my theory that these two occurrences are connected. Could the wasps be chewing away my weatherstripping, thereby causing the leaks. I think they might be but would like to know if anyone else has sen this happening. Thank You folks!
