Considering buying a 40 year old Sherwood Manor

Post by Donw » Sat Dec 16, 2017 10:24 am

Hello All,

I am completely new to mobile homes, so please excuse newbie idiocy! We are looking at a 40 year old Sherwood Manor home in a nice park near San Jose California. From my inexpert viewing, as a pretty handy 35 yr home owner, it looks to be in very good shape. Anyone have advice about the original, and ongoing quality, of Sherwood homes? We have an initial termite report that looks good, and of course will get a full inspection.

I just don't know what can be done to maintain older units like this? On our traditional 60 yr old home, I can fix or replace anything, but what's the deal with mobile homes? We really like the location and this particular home seems to be priced correctly for the surrounding market.

All help and advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Don
