replace heater ducts??
Hi, is replacing your whole heating ducts under your home an easy task? I have a 1973 home & the vents make sooo much noise & its driving me CRAZY!! From one of the previous owners; they put the yellow spray foam in the ducts, for what reason I don't know, but I don't know if thats what is expanding & contrasting soo much its causing all the noise or if it's something else?, I just bought the place a year ago & I'm having alot of problems SO I will be posting ALOT of questions.

hello betty and welcome to mobilehome.com
It sounds like the duct work in your home is not secure and vibrating. Are you or do you have a family member or friend that has handyman experience? If so follow the duct work under the home while the heater is on a causing the noise. Locate the exact spot where the problem/noise is coming from. Open the belly board or vapor barrier under that area with a razor knife. find or the spot that is vibrating and secure it. Metal Strapping and.... self tapping screws could eliminate the vibrations and aggravation.
If you are not handy find a reliable air conditioning contractor to locate and correct the problem

Re: replace heater ducts??
Thank you, its making noise throughout the whole home, its worse in the living room but I hear it in all the rooms when it just turns off. I am intending to replace my bellyboard & all the insulation when it gets warm due to a moisture problem that caused mold & mildew on my board
so while I had that open I was going to see what needed to be replaced &/or fixed. I really don't want to do that but I think with me being allergic to it, I need to get it out completely from the underneath & replace it.
