New Gutter Buckling

Post by Kraig » Sun May 07, 2006 6:53 pm

I had new gutters put on my home a 28x60 1999 Fleetwood sitting on poured walls foundation this last November, this house had never had gutters. So a few weeks ago I came home and noticed that right in the center of the front of the house the top portion of the gutter was bowing out and down literally krinkling I and only on the front I contacted the people that put them on but they never did come to look at the problem thats another story, the house behind me also a mfg home just had new gutters put on a few months back also and today I noticed their house gutters are doing the same thing! same construction what would cause this?? it's almost like the houses are flexing. any input would be great on this one. Sorry - that's a strange one. Did the same people install those gutters?

When were the gutters installed? What time of year and how cold was it? This is a common thing when gutters are installed in cold tempratures. If it was 32 degrees or colder when they were installed and the run is 60ft, then chances are that your gutters have expanded. The metal is at it's tightest when it is cold and when the weather changes and you see a heat wave come through, the aluminum will expand and will buckle close to the middle of the run. The gutter installer should have known this.
