rusty pipes

Hello......I am worried about my pipes as my face clothes are going green....does that mean rusty pipes? Is it dangerous...what should I do.....help. My husband is an mechanical engineer and used to know everything but now has dementia. I thought the green was from the chlorine in the water, but was told it could be the rusty pipes. We have been drinking it for years I guess. I just notice it in my bathroom because I use white cloths I guess. Thanks for any info!!!!!

Unless your home was built in the 60s or 70s it is most likely to have plastic plumbing, so if there is rust it probably is coming from the public drinking system... but rust is generally red-brown. Ask some of your neighbors if they are having the same problem. I think you will find that the problem is NOT specific to your manufactured home.

In Florida public drinking water must be chlorinated and there is a lot of hard water sources. If your not used top it the chlorine can give an offensive chemical taste. The green could be from chemicals or hard water elements.... You should probably get bottled water for drinking 'till you can determine what is making the water leave a green residue Florida public drinking systems are required to test their water regularly and make the results public... look up the local water company and ask them about it.
