Vents in inside ceiling
Vents in inside ceiling
I have a double wide that has vents in the inside ceiling. The air conditioning vents are in the floor. My question is: Do I need the ceiling vents or is it ok to close them up? They are letting a lot of hot air in & causing the air conditioner to run all the time.
Re: Vents in inside ceiling
Sounds like you have a home with what is called "Thinking Caps"..That is a thermostatically controlled roof vent system...The roof vents look like mushrooms on the roof and open when hot. The ceiling vents allow a little room air into thew roof to help ventilate it...They were sold as an energy saver...
If your home has adequate soffit ventilation, it might be OK to close the ceiling vents..
We will see wht others have to say..
