Waterline Connections

Post by larrybr45 » Wed Mar 28, 2007 5:00 am

A new fixture I am installing has brass ends.
Is it possible to connect this to a plastic piece on the supply side?

OR, is it possible to connect a wire mesh hose connector (with metal ends/bolts) to a plastic compression fixture with threads?
Can I connect a metal 1/4 shutoff valve (with 1/2 nut) to a 1/2 plastic compression thread?

I am looking to use quick connect compression fittings to join poly and pex.

I had always thought you could not mix plastic and metal...

thanks

You can find the answers to your questions in the latest article from Mark Bower, just posted to our site, Adding a fixture shut-off valve, replacing a faucet

To get a really good grasp on plumbing renovation to your manufactured home you can also read Understanding and Installing Manufactured Housing Waterlines, also from Mark Bower.

Mark is the owner of Aberdeen Home Repair. For years he has been one of the best known hands on men in the manufactured housing industry. Take a look at Marks repair and renovation book that covers all facets of manufactured home repair, The Manual for Manufactured Home Repair & Upgrade

As you would expect from the title, The repair and upgrade techniques described in this manual are specific to manufactured homes. This book will answer almost every question on manufactured home repair that you will ever have.

Available in print version and now also in e-book version for instant download.
