hello,
We bought a new schult home and had most of the room wired and braced for ceiling fans. Well, we went to install the first of 7 fans and found out that ok I know this is going to sound crazy but it seems that the brace is aimed east to west when it should be north to south to accomidate the slope of the ceiling...so that the ceiling fan can hang down properly.
What can be done now? We needed to get these installed befor the apprasale @ now we are stumped. Can the dealer even fix this?
We love our home & cant wait to get moved I guess this is just one of those silly things.
Any help that you can give us would be great.
thanks,csody

Re: ceiling fans
Cody...
You might want to pay the dealer to hang the fans....The brace has nothing to do with the cathedral ceiling..it is only there to support the weight of the fan...Most fans hang from a rod with a ball fitting and gravity makes it hang straight...
If you have flat based fans they will not work on slanted ceilings...In this case you may have to return the fan to where ever you bought them...
