Marriage Line Issues in Modular House

Post by Ralph » Mon Oct 24, 2005 9:00 am

I currently live in a modular house done back in 1978. the marriage line has settle to the extent that its noticeable while walking. there is carpet for flooring now. we have sold the house and planned on buying. we would like to go with a modular house (2500-3000 sqft) but are concerned about the marriage line doing the same thing over a long period of time (10+ years). I understand the concept of the house settling and loli columns on the center beams also.
has anyone experienced it with a newer constucted house?
please reply to my email address [email protected] if you can.

thank you.

This sounds like a foundation problem....All homes ..new or old are only as good as the foundation....Most 28 yr old stick built homes will have settled some over the years.....When you get a new one be sure the ground is properly prepared and the foundation is first class......
