Hello,
I have a mobile home that was illegally placed on a lot that I purchased as a foreclosure (before I purchased the lot). The home was destroyed in a hurricane, but I would like to use the steel frame as the base for a deck beside the home I put on the lot. I cant find any numbers on the trailer frame to research it, have no title for it, and code enforcement is starting to hassle me about "debris" in the yard. Does anyone have an idea how I can make this frame legal, so I can use it?
Or if someone knows a way that I can get a title to go with this frame, that would be great.
Thanks, kim

Re: salvage mobile home
I'm not sure what you are asking makes a lot of sense. Whether you use a steel frame or wooden supports, you probably just need to get a permit to build a deck and get the construction methods approved with the building inspector.
Otherwise if the frame still has a hitch, wheels and such, maybe you can apply to get it licensed as a pull-type trailer. People build their own trailers all the time, so there has to be a way they are licensing them.
Mark You gotta see my repair manual!
