floor repair

Post by Jeena » Sun Aug 21, 2005 11:37 am

We had the floor repaired a couple of years ago and the wood is not even with the old wood and it's under the vinyle so you can really tell. What is the best way to fix this problem? Should we just pull it up and put new down or is there another way to go about it? In some areas it's higer than the old and in some areas it's lower than the old. I guess they just used whatever they had.

If not enough of the old wood was taken out, some of the seams of the old wood may be swelled. Two things you can do. One, take out everything including more of the old wood, and replace with the same thickness plywood. If the difference in height isn't too bad, you could get some floor leveler and level things up that way.
