Belly

They cut the belly of my home open from end to end downh the middle and left it open for weeks when they closed it they used some kind of spray glue and tape. I dont know if they got all the insulation back in or not .They did not even put the skirting all back on . This was done by the factory inspector. The home also had some bad 2x6 floor Joyce . So they put some beside the old ones . But they only rest on the frame about 1 inch and are not fastened to the decking with nails . Can some one tell me about DAPIA and how I can get one . I feel they have just covered up most problems . Thanks They tell me the repairs are HUD approved But I paid alot for our home and want it repaired to the quality they told me about when I viseted the factory before I got it Thanks

DAPIA stands for the Design approval primary inspection agancy. they approve all the manufacturers designs to meet the HUD code.
Just ask the manufacturer to give you a copy of the DAPIA approved design for the repairs. Floor joist repairs are easy, typically the new peice of joist needs to be fully glued to the existing one and nailed or screwed like crazy, and should go past the cut or broken area of the other joist by 2 feet.

They had a lot of missed nails . So they put glue on the side of the 2x6 but the nails held it away then they put some screws in it . But the repair did not help . They did not nail the decking to the 2x6. And some were larger and they used a big hammer to drive them in raising the decking up maling things worse. The manufacturer will not give me a copy of the DAPIA or the contractors information . The state is comming for a reinspection today . The manufacturer had 40 days plus a 40 day extension to fix it . So after more than 80 days the home is worse than before. This all started in 2001 It appears they dont want to repair it correctly . Some things have been redone 3 times and still are not good
