Solar Power Possibilites

Post by Robert » Mon Oct 18, 2004 8:41 pm

Does anyone have information on adding a solor power system to a mobile home. Is this possible? Costs vs. energy savings? Any good solor power websites?
Is this unheard of?

During a sunny day, I heat my mobile home using two solar heaters I built myself. This link shows you how I built one of them.

Mark that is a really neat setup. How much heat does that put out on a sunny day? Is it just enough for the room it's installed in or does it also provide some heat to adjoining rooms

Thanks for the nice article showing how to build the panel.

The solar heating panels put out temps of 120-150 degrees on a sunny day. It kind of depends on how big of fan you run too. I run about a 300-400cfm fan. The heat blows into a room by I try to move it around with ceiling fans and such.

We have a number of solar systems here in Northern California. Locally, both the city of Oroville and Butte County have installed massive systems. There are quite a few single family installations around the county.

The company that is setting up the solar power system for my mobile home is AZ Solar. Very knowledgable and helpful.

Please place me on the solar power subscription list.
Natural gas here is $10 per cubic foot.
What about hydronic earth heated coils to recapture heat in the earth?
