Has anyone done a really extensive whole house remodel of an old mobile? (The property is worth it and cannot build stickbuilt on this site.) Know any good contractors/designers for same in Washington state?

Karen, yes older homes have been renovated. Its a question of economics however. One fact, you will not see much return on your investment in the home. In todays marketplace, its almost cheaper to find a newer repo to replace the old one. What it basically takes is for you to sit down and do the math on what its going to take to redo the old place vs purchacing a newer repo. Tom

I have done several INTERIOR renovations and If the furnace is okay, water heater etc. you can still put $3,000. in before you know it. That is if the roof joists are sound, the roof is okay etc. Exterior renovations here, without labor costs run about a grand for vinyl siding, about $1400. for windows, new skirt, etc. It can be very expensive and I wouldn't try it while living there.
