Ceiling Fans

Hello,

I have a mobile home with fans already in it, except for in one room. I want to add one. The thing is that the other ceiling fans in the house are mounted to the ceiling on a hook attached to the roof beam. There is already a hole there in the other room for the hook, what would I need to look for as far as a fan is concerned and any suggestions on the hook type to use or kits that may be needed. I am new to mobile homes, so all advice will be greatly accepted.

Also, I need advice on two of the fans. I want to raise them up, as they hand down about 8 to 10 inches from the roof and that makes for a real head ducker for me. They are the ones mentioned above mounted on a hook with a bolt going over the hook and through the bar the fan is hanging on. What would I need to do to raise these fans up, I do not know the type of fan or anything like that. Again, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can simply buy a fan brace at any hardware store. It simply slides out to touch your rafters. Keep in mind you also need power. If you are able to supply it with power you will need 3 wire with ground if you want to run the fan from a seprate swith than the light, or you can also buy a remote fan that only requires 2 wire for operation.

As for your other 2 fans. You can make them flush mount if you still have access to that hardware, otherwise you may have to buy new fans that will allow for this.
Keep in mind. A flush mount is not recommended for vaulted ceilings!

I have only been in a mobile home for six months and my one bedroom does not have a fan. Who could I call to find out if one could be put in and what type of fan I need.
