Paneling replacement

Can I remove the old paneling and replace it with 1/2 in dry wall? The major concern would be weight, but don't think 1/2 in dry wall is to much for the structure.

If your in an older single wide, weight could be a problem. But if thats the case, perimeter blocking would take care of that. Newer singles and doubles should be okay. Tom
