hello...i am looking into buying a double-wide mobile home. the particular homes i am looking at would be right around the $70,000 range. i was wondering, how well do these homes hold their value? would it be worth buying a double-wide, putting it in a park if i am going to be looking to sell and move in 2 to 5 yrs? any help from people who have been in this situation or know the re-sale value, or holding power on these homes would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's different in other parts of the country (retirement communities in warmer states?), but in central NY, you are throwing money away buying a DW, placing it in a park and expect to get what you still owe on it in 2-5 yrs.

Bobg it just aint so....
The continued valus of a MH depends on the same three factors as any other building.
LOCATION LOCATION CONDITION

Then CNY is the wrong location. For sale signs in windows and in the papers week after week. Private property might work, but not in a park here.

Resale can also be affected by the number of foreclosures as here in Austin area we have experienced alot of foreclosures thus forcing the value of doublewides way down.
