greetings,

i am considering moving our double-wide from GA to OK. we have a lot invested in this house and the cost of moving would be cheaper than starting over.

my question is, can i leave big things in the home like entertainment center, clothes dressers, beds, piano, etc during the move. it would be great to save money and get a smaller truck...but not so much if it tears up my house!

How far is your move? We moved our single wide about 200 miles and they let us leave bigger items such as our entertainment center and such, we just had to lay them in the center of the rooms and try to get the weight balanced as well as we could. We left after a major job site shut down for the town so there was not any moving trucks to be found!! We did not have any problems!!!!

we are actually looking into moving all the way from georgia to oklahoma. its a double wide home. and we have a TON of stuff. a smaller moving truck would sure be a blessing since the cost of moving the trailer is gonna be huge. still, im cruching the numbers and it still might be better for us to move this house than to try and sell it and buy another. plus we love this house. thanks for the reply. From what little I know about it (having read my owner's manual) the manufacturer does not recommend doing this - it isn't built for it, according to them.

Well good luck Kyle! I recently just moved and we had to sell, you never get what you put into them!!!!

It just aint so Heather ...We are reselling homes, that are ten years and older for MORE then when they were new. Manufactured Housing resale value is based on the same factors as any other structure. LOCATION and CONDITION are the keys. When you buy pay attention to location. If you bought in a less then desirable location, or your trying to sell a home that is a lesser condition then when you bought it you can expect a less then desirable return on selling. If your manufactured home is in a highly desirable location and maintained in top condition you will ALWAYS be able to get a top price, and in most markets MORE then you paid.

I want to build a garage and small porch on to my double wide. Are there any sites with designs that compliment the structure.
