We bought an 1997 Skyline modular home and need information on the warranty of this home. We have been having electrical problems with the outlets throughout and need to know if this home is still covered under a warranty where we can have them repaired without costing us a bundle.
We live in Concrete, WA. on 11 acres that came with so the home must've been purchased nearby as the young couple only had it a couple of yrs.
I have the serial # on this home that could be helpful locating the dealership.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If I remember right..Skyline warranty is 1 year...never are any warranties in the industry over 5 years..with deductable fees to pay after the 1st year...Even then..origianl equipment warranties are not transferable to the second owner...

Basically you have no warranty..

Now..the problem you are having is probably related to the crimp type electrical outlets...The wires are not screwed onto the outlet..they are shoved into a crimp spring that cuts the wire and makes contact with the metal in the wire...These kind of outlets have been common in all types of new construction for the last 12 years...In some cases the wires work lose...causing some heat build up that causes the outlet to not work or spark...This is not really a tough repair...

Replacement outlets cost less than $2 and the job is easy...Remember to turn off the breaker that the outlet is connected to..Good Luck

Or you can check with your local government for what they tell the manufacturer concerning length of warranty.
I found out that were I live,the factory must honor my warranty claims for two full years.
If you have FHA financing, you may also have up to ten full years.
FHA covers a lot - HUD included, So call your lender.
I found the same wiring technique used in my Skyline and I went out and bought the new fixtures and installed them using the 'screw' technique.
