Looking for a way to buy. Rent is too high

I am a single mom in my mid 40's. My credit is not real good due to my daughter messing it up for me. Is there any way possible to get financing for a land home package. I have an accounting degree and always have held a job but I am not able to buy because of bad credit. I was able to finance a new car though in 2001. The shame about it all is that rent is so high now that having a mortgage would be easier to pay. If anyone knows who could possibly give me the break I need, I would certainly appreciate it. I live in Central Florida. I do not like the county I am living in (POLK County). I would love to be able to leave here and go anywhere else in Florida that is north of here. The only solution for the credit problems is time....If you have a clean credit record for the last 12 months...and can or will arrange to payoff old collection...the FHA will finance a home for you...Most any dealer in Ocala or Leesburg should be very famlier with this type of finace.....Shop around and find a good dealer...let him get you preapproved...It might take some effort and time...but if there is a will..there is a way..
