belly repair, skirting insulation, gutters, rolled h2o service line, roof seal,etc.,etc.,... Who came up with this material and service plan.. First, let me clarify that I agree to some of the material being marketed as mobile home parts, repair lists, and service reccomendation script. I do however wholeheartedly disagree with much of it as well and most definentley without reservations find only disgust regarding the cost of most service providers labor rates and selected materials. I jumped into the service program rather quickly and had the best out of the gate semester any hopeful could anticipate. I did however research the industry professionals availability, individualized pricing, lack of affordability regarding package service plans , service maintenance, warranties, modifications of manufacturing specifications regarding selected materials and quantities. Most importantly, i personally observed work performed by the area service participants and on most occasions was welcomed to review the customers copy of billed invoice. I will give the area businesses credit for sticking together rearding their awareness of monopolization and sticking it to everyone they worked for that i met. Examples: "how much do u guys charge to seal a 14`x70?". "$390.00 plus labor.
(40.00per [email protected] hrs. avg.) My offer: $139.00 plus materials for single wides. 189.00 for dbls. Gutters cleaned, roof stripped of buildup, all roof vent beauty rings resealed with tar. 2.5 5 gallon pails of Rubberized sealcoat applied by my weather tested results suggestions. U feather on the first coat, evenly and sparingly. if high tree count existence or obvious daylight between (so called)gutter channel and siding i reccomend a new gutter system. I stay on the straps and remove and or repair smaller covering damage. I spend 2 guys and 4hrs. on a roof and return within 2 days for setup inspection. work from middle and never allow outside highspots or runoff. Most of these clowns in the biz that i have met will throw on the seventh coat without a spade or scraper in sight,(7th coat? ru nuts).pex fittings for a complete replumb, not I, no way. if another problem occurs the customers will experience more crap before service is established and or rendered. Stick pipe with an inside main shutoff r my personal minmal suggestions. Our area professionals estimate avg. 4 the aforementioned work is $1900.00. nothing past facility cabinet stubbing is included. every single tap recieves a separate valve and drainline does not go unattended. I install inside of belly only and repack insulation with equal distribution. $1000.00. 2 guys, 6-8 hrs. Nice profit for both of us. I`m under a trailer doing something ,u can bet if there is any wiring directly on the ground it will be tied above without hesitation(common sense exercised). And so on and so on. Unfortunately there r those who will doubt u and will question your qualifications. Fact, gas piping inspected by gas co. no charge.Fact 110v wiring can be done by my grandmother providing a licensed electrician approves it.Fact, Anyone can purchase a complete Coleman,Evcon manufactured housing furnace library which lists every model being used today and yesterday.separate info sheets for all . troubleshooters, service guides, parts lists, installation requirements. all individually categorized. Lifelong warranty, recall,&discontinuance updates r disributed to registered library clientel. How about that temporary leveling technique they r all doing. my god and for that randomly selected outerspace pricing. 2 6 ton bottle jacks ,5 ft. level, skidsteer bucket of washed sand, dry bagged quickcrete, and customer provided blocking. $250.00. done right . done once. And here`s an added tip. Have the homeowner inside above u at each room accessed door. saves on a butt chewing. availability, sincerity, honesty, quality, i believe r the real winners behind longevity in isolated areas. I`m alone and without a credit line so it will take awhile . If u don`t request a referral i will provide one anyway. There is no shame in keeping the original concept of mobile home living alive...AFFORDABILITY. NOW EVERYONE PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND OFFER SENSIBILITY.

Whew! Thank u 4 the forum to blow off a little steam.

p.s. it`s against the law to use a fueled blower heater for thaw outs.. wake up.... close the registers, open the cabinets and start thawing at individual faucets with a hair dryer.. open up backwards to main. If your hired help tells u that there is a busted line, chances r that he broke it... watch it people not everyone is a straight shooter.

You are absolutely right Jack, maintenance and repair for manufactured homes is not a mystery and in most cases fairly easy and inexpensive BUT....There are those of us who are NOT handy or just not interested in crawling under the home, opening walls or messing with electric and plumbing lines. You can get a great extended warranty type service contract at very reasonable prices.Check out the possibilities. Dear Jack or Anyone That Can Help,

Do you have a phone number for Fleetwood. A friend has one and the furnace memory board keeps blowing out after a good wind. Maybe you know what she can do.

Thanks,
Dwayne Barclay

I have white stuff growing on the outside vents of my Coleman A/C unit. Any idea how to remove it? Is it a health danger? Can the vents be replaced? I really don't know where to start. We have washed the vents with Bleach, CLR, Orange clean. The white stuff will not go away.

Concerned!
