ice damn

Hello, recently we had ice damns on our roof that caused leaking inside our home and ruined my flooring in my kitchen ( we have a high-end laminate flooring) Fortuneately, so far, the damage has only been to the kitchen floor, but because of the ice build-up, I am afraid there may be more on the way.

Will my insurance typically cover this damage? How can I word this so that my Insurance co knows there is no neglegence on my part and How can I remedy this other than just replacing my flooring...
