Why is MH Insurance different?

Post by Jen S. » Sat May 24, 2003 11:34 am

My husband and I own a MH home that is on a permanent concrete block foundation on 10 acres. Why is insurance for my manufactured home different than that for any home on a raised permanent foundation? I'm tired of people calling my home a trailer and I wish we had never bought a MH in the first place.

Why is the insurance for my 4 door Ford Focus less than my 2 door Ford Focus???

The ways of rating and prices are about as different as there are companies...Manufactured Home insurance is not always higher than stick built..Shop around and see if you can get better rates...

I sure would like to know about a reputable insurance company that will cover a manufactured home on a full, finished basement for the same as a stick built home. State Farm sure doesn't...........raised my rates over $100 a year each of the past two years to twice what a stick built would insure for in my area.
