Fireplace in new MH

We really want a fireplace in a new doublewide we plan to purchase. Is this going to raise the insurance rate? Also what sort of extras does the insurance agency give discounts for, i.e. smoke detectors, etc.?

Having a fireplace in your doublewide does increase your insurance rate but it is usually minimum. In most states that I write insurance it is only $20-25 per year. The extra discounts for fire protection also differs from state to state.

Where is a good place to buy mobile home insurance for the state of Iowa.

I have a 1996 single wide with a factory installed fireplace

My premiums are currently running about $480 per year.

Thanks.

WHen the fireplace comes factory installed, generally, there is not an extra charge
