1988 singlewide mobility question

Post by help777 » Tue Apr 19, 2011 3:07 pm

Can somebody please tell me if there are any restrictions on moving a single wide mobile home, that is a 1988 model, from Charlotte, NC to Fort Mill, SC? I am wondering if there are certain restrictions for older mobile homes. it's a good condition.

While all manufactured homes are constructed to the federal HUD building code there are different HUD requirements for different parts of the country. Additionally each local building permit authority has its own qualifications for permitting.

You would be wise to contact the local building dept office to find out of they will permit a specific year make and wind zone home. Moving s home is not a do it your self project. Find a few licensed MH installers who are experienced in pulling permits locally. Ask what they will charge for the total relocation.

In most places in the USA today you must be licensed to install manufactured home.
