We're thinking of signing up with an online tenant screening service, and they are asking for some pretty private info of us. Among the requests are:
• Copy of a driver license of the individual responsible for this membership.
-and-
• Copy of a current business license or Articles of Incorporation.
-and-
• A voided bank deposit ticket and a current bank statement.
It's giving out the bank information I'm really concerned with; is this something that's the norm for these companies to require?
The company is youcheckcredit.com.

Re: tenant screening service docs
There are several companies that offer this service. Requesting your bank info for automated payments is not unusual in today's world or electronic payment. Call you bank branch manager and ask if there is a way you can insure that electronic payments are limited to a maximum amount each month or hit Google and Yahoo and find a service that offers a payment option you are more comfortable with.

Re: tenant screening service docs
They are not wanting the bank info to make automated payments. They want a voided check AND my last bank statement as part of their application process. I don't think so!!

It's no more intrusive than what you're asking your tenants to provide.
