I live in a mobile home park in Ventura County {California}. The owner recently died. I fear the heirs may decide to sell this 50-year old park.
What, if any, protection do we have as owners of mobile homes, some of which are over 20-years old?
Are we protected under some law(s) that would require we be paid fair-market value for our mobile homes.
Consumer protection if mobile home park is sold
Re: Consumer protection if mobile home park is sold
Your protection is your lease and the state law. Normally, the state law will require the community owner give you a certain amount of time to move your home if they want to sell the land or close the community. Sometimes a developer may offer to help with the cost of moving your home. Most states do not require a community owner to pay fair market value for homes which are on their property.
