Credited Community Manager
Credited Community Manager
WIll there be A Credited Community Manager Course offered in Ohio next Year and if so When and Price $
Re: Credited Community Manager
There is none booked at this time, but it is too early to tell for sure. The Ohio Association is the one that elects to have the class. Please call them to see if they are planning one. It will show up on my website when they select a date. They are also the ones that set the price.
Re: Credited Community Manager
What about in Southern California (Anaheim)? I'd be interested in pursuing this training as an option. My story is that I come from 12+ years in retail, decided within the last year it was time for a change; opted to get into property management and connected myself with a temporary services agency specializing in multifamily housing, primarily apartments. They have assigned me to several communities for durations anywhere between a day to several weeks. I am now on site at a MH community in Anaheim, CA to replace someone who was not so amicably terminated. I am told that no long term decision will be made until after the holidays, but the staff likes me, and all the residents I have come in contact with like me.
I have accomplished the following in my short time so far at this community:
-collected and posted rent payments
-sent out 3-day and 60-day notices
-posted 3 day notices for utility interruption
-answered countless resident issues, including maintenance
-issued temporary parking permits
-revised responsibilities for courtesy patrol services, met with courtesy patrol supervisor and went over what the community needed to be able to expect going forward.
-worked with vendors
How would I go from my situation as it stands now, to a more long term (hopefully permanent) situation?

Re: Credited Community Manager
John, I have taken the liberty of forwarding your email to a couple regional managers who have communities in California. Additionally, you may want to contact the Western Manufactured Home Community Owners Association in Sacramento at 916-448-7002.
Re: Credited Community Manager
Thanks for the advice. I have learned that, as of today, despite all I was able to accomplish; that I was not needed at this community at least for the time being. By now, I guess I should be used to this (but I don't have to like it
), but I might be needed again early next year before the owner makes a decision to fill the position on a long term basis. I have since learned that he chooses NOT to hire from temp agencies for whatever reason for his management team, but he does for his maintenance team. Like I said earlier, all was going well, everyone I came into contact with liked me, and now I cannot apply directly to the company on my own without penalty from the temp agency for a period of 1 year..
What I am looking for, is what I had in almost every position I held in retail, was someone who was willing and able to take the time to answer questions and give advice, a mentor; this, especially since I am making such a dramatic professional career move. I still, to this day, get emails every now and then, from several of my mentors from my past....
