I am the manager of a mobile home park in Florida which leases land to the owners of mobile homes. We just had the owners of a mobile home evicted. They took nothing when they left and the mobile home is now just sitting empty.
What can we do to claim title to this mobile home...we just can't let it sit there and we are not going to pay to have it removed to the property line.
Also I have no idea where the owners went..or if they are even still in the state.
Any and all suggestions would be a great help.
Thanks in advance.
Eviction's done..what now?
Re: Eviction's done..what now?
Most likely this home has a mortgage...You would first have to notify the lender before you could get an abandoned home title..
Try to find the lender and notify them...some will pay rent from the day you let them know of the problem..

In Florida, please send a certified letter to the lienholder advising them of the abandoned home and the rate of rent. They are obligated to pay rent beginning 30 days from the date of the letter forward . If you are not sure of the lienholder, go to Tag Talk on the Internet, or visit your local motor vehicle office. You can also verify ownership that way. Follow through with procedures that the Bureau of Motor Vehicles will give you to get a title to the home in your name if it is abandoned and there is no lienholder. It requires some legal notices in the newspaper and a court visit.
