My home has the exact same problem. I tried to file a homeowners insurance claim for it, but it was rejected. I am no longer living in the home, but the current occupants have been ill since they moved in due to the mold. They are going to be moving out. I am also looking for someone that would take on this problem.

We bought our 1997 double wide from a local dealer here in Greenville, Ms.. It was the worst mistake in our life. It has been a total nightmare. It delivery from Alabama to here the truck had a blow out and total wrecked the master bath. It busted the bathtub tore up things under our trailer. Once it reached the lot they taped the plastic back up under there and never even told us about the incident. We had to call Chandeleur to have repairs made to our home for over a year. At the end of the year they had not done half of what was supposed to have been done. But, yet they then told me that my 1 year warranty was up with them to call my insurance company. I could go on for hours here but, you have an idea that we went through the same things you did. Sorry that we did not know this before we obligated ourselves....

We bought a chandeleur mobile home in August of 2004. When we bought it we didn't have any idea what we were getting into. It is a 2004 model 52 x 14. Once we moved in we realized that several of the outlets either would not work, or burnt up the appliances that were plugged into them. We had an electrician come out and a lot of the wires going to the 110 circuts were actually 220s, and the 220s were 110s. We were very upset by this. We would now like to trade it in for a double wide (preferably fleetwood or some other company with a better sucess rate) and would like to know what trade in on it is. If anybody has any idea please let me know. Thanks.

Trading a home is costly way to sell...The dealer will give you market wholesale MINUS needed repairs and pick up costs...By far most customers with this kind of a home have a loan balance much more than the above value...Trades of this new a home are really rare because most folks do have enough cash to pay the difference

My husband and I purchased a 1995 16X80 Chandeleur mobile home in March of 2000. It was purchased from someone that sells reposed mobile homes. Our home leaks also. Our whole front door frame was rotted out and now the sheet rock is crumbling apart. My husband replaced the whole frame and when it rains heavily our carpet in the hall by the door gets wet. Also at the back door in our dining area, it leaks. Our pipes under the kitchen sink and master bath also leaked and had to be replaced. also, it looks like the front and back doors aren't the ones that came on this mobile home.
Does anyone know if this company is still in business and if so WHY??

Although this plant is long gone..This is a HUD violation that threatens your life...Champion Home Builders did own this company and must have some continuing obligation...Even if you warranty term is over HUD will enforce violations for the life of the home...Have your information handy and call the state agency in your state that contracts with HUD,,,They are...

We purchased a chandeleur home in Oct. 1999. We have had nothing but problems with it since it was new. The factory put plumbing at an upward tilt in the master bath. The commode would not flush. It took three trips from the service people to get it fixed. We had a bad leak around the sky light in the bath room and I sent pictures to the customer service dept. in Alabama but could not get any help. We have had to replace almost ever electrical outlet. We had a couple of dangerous ones. The water heater went out in about 4 years and ruined the pantry floor. Our vinyl in the kitchen came loose from the walls and we have replaced it. Now we are doing major repairs on the roof. It looks like it is going to take work from now on. We have too much in it to trade. Can anyone send me the name, address, and phone number of the person in TN that is over the manufactured housing division? I am seriously thinking about a lawyer at this point.

Usually you can search for this info on the Yellow Pages listed on this web site...but for some reason they are offline right now...I looked this up on the HUD site ...
Remember this manufacturer is out of business..but they were owned by Champion Homes...I would hope that Champion the second largest builder in the country would still have obligations to HUD on these homes...You can call your state agency and find out...Of course the warranty is lonf gone...but there is NO time limit on HUD violations if there is one...
