refinancing mobile home

Post by sissie » Wed Apr 30, 2003 7:23 am

Our mobile home is a 2000 model. We own our property and it is clear and is not tied into the mobile. We are currently paying 10.5% . 461.54 for 20yrs. We are hoping to refinance at a lower rate.We can use the land if we have to towards the refinancing. We don't know where to start. I have wasted time on the phone calling around and mortage co. don't want to deal with manufactured homes. So, what should be our next step and where should we be searching. The bank that we are currently financing with doesnot refinance. Thanks sissie

I'm a broker here in Pennsylvania. If your house is in PA, I can help you out. If not, let me know what state you reside in and I'll let you know who can help you.

Go buy or call one of the C&G Homes sales lots in your area...Ask for the finance manager...Ask them which local mortgage company they might use...

Some lenders we use in GA..that have offices in your area..
Southtrust Mortgage (not Southtrust bank)
Regions Mortgage (again not Regions Bank..they are owned buy the same company but the mortgage company will finance your home..current rates about 5.75%)
Look up Wells Fargo Mortgage, Even try Ditech.com...

You have been calling banks...you should be calling the mortgage companies...

Just remembered...One of the biggest in the country is right there in JAX...Look them up in the phonebook...Pinacle (sp?) Mortgage (the Jax office does nothing but manufactured homes)...There offices are on the Southside off St. Johns Bluff road near the Mayo Clinic..
All of the above should be about 6% for 30 year notes...5.5% for 15 year notes...Good Luck

You may want to try Chase Manhattan or Wells Fargo, both of which do MH.

I am looking to refinance my mobile home due to the fact that the company I currently have the mortgage with is going through bankruptcy and they have been reporting falsely that I have been late on payments when I have not . I have all receipts showing that I have mad all my payments and yet they continue to report that I am a month behind. This has been going on for two years and I now have an attoryne hired who also has gone over the paperwork and she cannot find where they claim we have missed. They will not tell us what month they claim to be missed. I have found out that we are not the only person they are doing this to. Please help me find a mortgage company to refinance with so I can get away from the one I am using now. I do have good credit references from local banks and from people I have financed land with and credit cards, however the mortgage company I am using is quickly destroying my credit. It will take time to repair their damage and the sooner I can get my loan elsewhere the quicker I can repair my credit. I am living in Arkansas.
Thank You
Robert Gifford
