Repo Agents

I am an owner/operator of a mobile home moving and set-up business. I have been searching unsuccessfully for repo agents that might be interested in using my business to pick up and transport repoed mobile homes to various locations in the state of North Carolina. How do I find and contact these agents? The only thing that I know is that they worked for various finance companies and are located in different counties throughout North Carolina, how to contact them is something that I am having trouble with. Please help.
Thank you for your time, S. Russell

Three suggestions for you that might help. 1) Call the various finance companies and ask for their business. 2) Touch bases with local retailers and brokers who are selling repossessed homes by looking in the yellow pages online to identify them. 3) Talk with the North Carolina Manufactured Housing Institute at 919-872-2740. Any other ideas out there?

You are right in the middle of manufactured home country...The largest lender in NC is Oakwood...Unless they have changed recently...the local managers handle all contract work...If that is true..you will have to talk to them individually...You might call the recovery manager of OAC...Oakwood Acceptance Corp....in Greensboro and talk to him/her...Do not be surprised that saving money might not be the most important thing..
Vanderbuilt is big in your area...They are out of Knoxville, TN...You might talk to the recovery manager...If it is a Clayton sold home...they handle them at the local level and the manager will hire the crews...bit they handle other homes that end up on independent lots..Usually the independent repo dealer handles the pick up assignments...Here price will be the contoling factor..He is going to sell your services to the lender at a profit..
Greempoint and Conseco both have regional offices in your state...They sometimes contract directly with movers...also right now they are helping troubled customers sell their home by paying for free moves...This could be a good place to prospect...Find their numbers on their web sites or through the state association..Just remember...habits are hard to break...recovery managers get into a rut and seldom change haulers....
There are other lenders but most will deal directly with local repo stores...They will contract with the owners for pick up service..Many do contract this out..but you have to work hard to get in the door..
Good Luck
