Leadership
RE: Leadership
These are some complicated questions. I'll do my best here, but if you need more information, please feel free to call me at my office at 813-982-9617. I'll be in Thursday (July 26) and Friday (July 27) of this week. Effective leadership is only as a result of diversity awareness. Diversity is not only in ethnicity, but in cultures, beliefs, traditions, habits, and many other areas. A leader can only get the best from their people if they are sensitive to the diversity among their employees and lead with that in mind.
Leadership is the act of helping others to grow professionally and personally while reaching your goals or the goals of the company. Entrepreneurship is the act of going into business for yourself rather than working for someone else. Many times positions within a company are entrusted to someone with the spirit of an entrepreneur. Responsibilities and levels of authority can almost raise an employee to the level of an entrepreneur. Sometimes it is a mindset.
Organizational change is difficult at best. Without constant communication and a close relationship between the leadership (supervisors) and the corporate culture (upper management and board of directors) there is a feeling of insecurity and the fear of the unknown that haunt the leadership and prevent them from effectively moving forward with the change. These feelings are then communicated through subliminal messages to the employees who resist, rather than embrace, the changes.
