Hometown America I believe is based in Chicago, maybe they are the same.
We also have had problems with rent increases ( 2 in 7 months) our rent is $441.75 here in Pa. which is on the high side since this isn't an upscale park, but it's also not a "trailer" park it falls in the middle. We live in the "new" section of the park which has about 25 residents and maybe 15 empty lots, well within the last 3 weeks 9 houses have gone up for sale and after talking to some of the residents they all said with the exception of one that they were moving because of rent increases and problems with park management. My fiance and I have begun the footwork for starting a homeowners association ( we currently don't have one) and after taking an informal survey residents were excited to have an association. We are in the process of drawing up letters to send to each resident here to see exactly what the level of participation we could expect. Maybe this is something you might consider where you live, Management does not have to pay much attention to one or two residents, but when it's a group they have very little choice. Good luck to you

Be careful, MHC, Inc. is in a legal battle here in Santa Cruz, CA. The DeAnza Mobile home park, which is a senior citizen park, is under rent control and MHC Inc is taking the city to court to eliminate rent control even though the company purchased the park in mid 1990's with an "irrevocable" rent contol clause in the lease. The people are being offered a 34 year lease but once they sell rents will go from $450-$600 to $1750 to $5000 PER MONTH. This essentially eliminates all the equity built into the home and many people who counted on this equity now find themselves in dire straights at a very late stage in life. MHC has big money and will go after whoever they need to in order to get what they want. If I had it to do over, I would never move into any park where MHC Inc. is part of. Be careful folks!
