I have had several request for a mobile home loan. I cannot seem to find a lender out there who is doing this. I am in California. Is there anyone who can direct me to some sourses?

Hi.

My mother-in-law wants me to buy this old 16x80 home shell and build it out so we don't have to pay the high price of rent. We do have money saved to do this BUT the seller does not have a title. He claimes the home has been abandoned in his court for over 7 years, and has rented it out to several people over the years. He said it became his because the people owed him back rent for over 6 months,and they just moved out and left it there. Then they contacted him months later and told him to do what he wanted with it so he rented it. Now it's just a metal shell. Does this man seem like a crook? OR can I realy buy this.
And if I can buy it how do I get a bill of sale and title. I live in Louisiana, and the man wants next to nothing for the shell. ANY info would be great!!

Shell or home - I would buy nothing without a title. He should apply for a title for an abandoned home. If Louisiana is one of those states that don't have titles, talk to the bureau of motor vehicles for guidance.
